David J. âSPCâ Meiring, 57, of 69 N. Main St., Minster, died at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys
He was born on Aug. 18, 1954, in Coldwater, the son of the late Roland âMortâ and Delores (Vehorn) Meiring. His mother survives in Minster.
Rita L. Wenning-Spraley, 89, of North Star, died on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
She was born on Nov. 28, 1922, in Lakeview, the daughter of the late Carl and Irene  (Tate) Hohl.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Alvin J. Spraley, in North Star.
Francis J. Groff was born on June 13, 1918, and went to his eternal rest on Friday, April 27, 2012.
He was born in North Star, the son of the late Emmanuel & Ella (Mangen) Groff.
He resided the last several years of his life with his daughter, Theresa, in Kettering.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie (Knapke) Groff; five brothers, Paul, Val, Dick, Lloyd and Joe Groff; two sisters, Mary Catherine Barga, Florine Schmitz.
April 27th
Evelyn C. Eiting, 84, formerly of Eiting Road in Minster, and was in Otterbein St. Marys for 1.5 years, died at 2 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Otterbein St. Marys.
She was born on Dec. 1, 1927, in Maria Stein, the daughter of the late William and Mary (Buening) Overman.Â
She married Wilmer âBudâ Eiting on March 3, 1962, he preceded her in death on April 11, 1973.Â
Alma E. Clune, 76, of 1965 Amsterdam Road, Minster, died at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at her home.Â
She was born on June 30, 1935, in Montezuma, the daughter of the late Izador and Bertha (Tumbusch) Steinke.Â
She married Leonard F. Clune on Nov. 24, 1956, in Montezuma, and he survives.
April 9th
Terrence J. (Terry) Nieport, 54, of 552 E. Main St., St. Henry, died on Saturday, April 7, 2012,, at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.
He was born on May 1, 1957, in Coldwater, the son of Joseph John Nieport of St. Henry and the late Gertrude B. (Weitzel) Nieport.
On July 31, 1982, he married Ruth (Meyer) in Newport, and she survives in St. Henry.
The Rev. Leonard H. Goettemoeller, C.PP.S., 88,, a member of the Kansas City Province of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood, died on April 4, 2012.
Born on June 1, 1923, to Gregor Goettemoeller and Mary Kramer in St. Henry, he attended grade school in St. Henry before beginning studies at Brunnerdale Seminary High School in Canton in 1938. Following his 1943 graduation from St. Joseph College in Rensselaer, Ind., he began theology studies at St. Charles Seminary in Cathagena.
Mary Catherine (Kay) Buening, 68, of Coldwater, died on Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
She was born on Jan. 15, 1944, in St. Henry, the daughter of Aloys Wendel and William and Viola (Everman) Wuebker.
On Nov. 23, 1968, she married Gerald J. Buening, and he preceded her in death on July 20, 2007.
April 6th
Mary Jane Birt, 83, formerly of Montezuma, died on Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
She was born on May 24, 1928, in Chickasaw, the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Rosa (Clune) Schwieterman.
On June 18, 1949, she married Doyle Birt, and he preceded here in death on Oct. 31, 2007.
She is survived by four children, Charles and Karen Birt of Fenton, Mich., Ronald and Cindy Birt of Athens, Alan and Pepper Birt of Montezuma, Jeanette and BIll Muhlenkamp of Arlington, Texas; 16 grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; 12 great-grandchildren.
April 4th
Lowell A. Dues, 79, of Coldwater, died at 10 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2012, at the Gardens at St. Henry.
He was born on Feb. 6, 1933, in St. Henry, the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Kaup) Dues.
On April 26, 1952, he married Joan C. (Streacker) in Coldwater, and she survives in Coldwater.
