Local schools earn high ratings on state report cards E-mail

Four area schools secured “Excellent” ratings on their state report cards again this year.  New Bremen, Marion Local, Fort Loramie and Minster all received the top honors from the Ohio Department of Education. Minster also received the “with distinction” designation from the state.

Oktoberfest committee names 2010 grand marshal E-mail

MINSTER - The Minster Oktoberfest Committee has announced the Grand Marshal for the 2010 Oktoberfest parade.  Minster resident Mary Knapke has been selected to lead the 36th annual Oktoberfest parade.
Knapke was surprised by the news that she had been selected as this year’s Grand Marshal.

‘Chili 96’ wins Bremenfest chili cook-off E-mail

NEW BREMEN — One team at the Bremenfest chili cook-off now has bragging rights for the next 364 days of the year.
Area residents circled the Crown Pavilion Saturday during the annual Bremenfest chili cook-off to sample all the pots of chili and decide which was their favorite.
