Fort Loramie's Liberty Days Celebrates June 30-July 2

Fort Loramie Liberty Days will kick off the July 4 holiday with a fun-filled weekend of patriotism, live entertainment and events for people of all ages.

A community festival dating back to the early 1970s, Liberty Days is a great opportunity to catch up with old friends while celebration the country’s independence.

The event kicks off on Friday night at 6 p.m. with carnival rides, the national kiddie tractor pull, the Declaration of Independence read by Ken Sowards, the Miss Independence contest, turtle races, live music by Saw Creek and fireworks at 10 p.m.. The fireworks can only be seen from the park.

The park opens at 11 a.m. Saturday, with barbecue chicken dinners available sand rides opening. A vendor show, the Little Miss Independence show, junior trivia challenge, bean bags, bingo, sack races, water balloon toss, horseshoe tourney, petting zoo, turtle races and music from Empty Tank and DJ Obie highlight Saturday.

On Sunday, the park opens at 11 a.m. A volleyball tournament, patriotic Rosary, horseshoe tourney, kids lip sync contest, balloon art, bingo, dodgeball, kids fun zone, petting zoo, cutest baby contest, raffle drawing and music from DJ Scott Wendeln and Kevin and the Others highlight Saturday’s events.
