The Minster football team broke its post-game huddle with a "Rock the Fort" chant.

The Wildcats made sure next Friday's stakes at Fort Recovery remained high as Minster put up 505 yards of total offense and scored at will against the Delphos St. John's Blue Jays in a 52-28 victory on Friday night.

An offense that had scuffled the three previous weeks delivered against the Blue Jays. Running back Evan Huelsman ran for 210 yards and scored four rushing touchdowns, Bryce Schmiesing dazzled with a 93-yard kickoff return for a score and touchdown catches of 63 and 37 yards while the ballhawking defensive secondary picked off three more passes.

"We had kids make plays," Minster head coach Geron Stokes said. "Execution was better this week."

Minster has won two straight games after dropping back-to-back games to start the Midwest Athletic Conference against Coldwater and Marion Local. The Wildcats are back to .500 in the MAC and over .500 for the season just in time to face the other MAC unbeaten — third-ranked Fort Recovery.

With Fort Recovery third in the Region 26 playoff chase and Minster three spots behind in sixth place, the stakes are big.

"This week is going to be a big week," Stokes said. "Fort Recovery is going to be jacked up for this one."

The Wildcats racked up 275 yards rushing on the night, with 210 coming from Huelsman.

"Evan Huelsman is as tough a player as I've ever coached," Stokes said. "He's our workhorse and our leader. It was nice to see him get rolling like that."

Minster quarterback Nixon went 13-of-16 for 221 yards and three touchdowns.

Aaron Reindel led St. John's with three rushing touchdowns and a receiving touchdown.

St. John's (1-5) goes to Anna next Friday.
