St. Henry's Jessica Mestemaker is making a difference in the lives of hundreds of young patients at the Children's Medical Center in Dayton.

Mestemaker, a sophomore at St. Henry, donated hundreds of coloring books, crayons, markers, gel pens, sketch pads, activity books, paint brushes, canvas, accessories and more to the hospital on Thursday, April 13.

Mestemaker received over $500 in donations from the Jim Dippold Youth Fund, Girl Scouts and the community with collections points at the St. Henry library, St. Henry Schools, and St. Bernard .  Mestemaker organized the donation on her own. Not required by any school project, Mestemaker decided on the project as a way to give back to the kids that will be in the hospital over Easter and long afterwards.

"I"d like to thank everyone for their contributions and helping her put a smile on the faces of many children at Children's Medical Center of Dayton," Mestemaker said.
Mestemaker, the daughter of Jerry and Charlene, hopes ot continue a life of service as a teacher one day.
