Coldwater 17, New Knoxville 0, 5 inn. — Austin Riethman went 3-for-3 with four RBI and three runs scored and Jacob Wenning was 2-for-4 with four RBI as Coldwater romped to a Midwest Athletic Conference win over the Rangers on Tuesday. The Cavaliers scored nine first inning runs and six in the second.


Minster 12, Delphos St. John’s 1 — Senior Jared Huelsman went 3-for-4 with four RBI to lead Minster to a 12-1 MAC win at Delphos St. John’s. Isaac Schmiesing had two hits and four runs scored. Austin Shinabery added two hits for the Wildcats, who broke a scoreless tie in the third with three runs and closed out the game with a combined seven runs in the game’s final two innings. Noah Enneking pitched the game’s first six innings, giving up a run on four hits with seven strikeouts. Alex Lehmkuhl worked a scoreless seventh as Minster improved to 7-1 on the season and 1-1 in the MAC.


Fort Recovery 2, St. Henry 0 — Nick Thwaits threw a three-hit shutout on the mound with nine strikeouts to lead Fort Recovery to an early-season MAC win over St. Henry. Thwaits outdueled Daylon Lange, who allowed just two unearned runs over seven innings while recording seven strikeouts.  Joe Homan drove in both runs for the Indians.


New Bremen 9, Marion Local 4 — New Bremen scored the game’s first nine runs and got strong pitching from Ryan Bertke to win a MAC game against the Flyers. Luke Vonderhaar, Ryan Bertke and Grant Selby each drove in two runs while Justin Tenkman had three hits for a New Bremen squad that collected 12 hits. Marion Local’s bats didn’t wake up until the late innings, when they scored four runs in their final two at-bats. Jonathan Schmitz was 2-for-4 with two RBI for the Flyers.


Versailles 9, Parkway 3 — Kurtis Rutschilling went 3-for-4 with three RBI to lead Versailles at the plate while Matthew Niekamp pitched 6 1-3 innings for the win.

Softball


Fort Recovery 12, St. Henry 1, 5 inn. — Bailee Tebbe drove in three runs while Olivia Homan drove in two at the plate and threw a five-inning complete game for Fort Recovery.


New Bremen 8, Marion Local 3 — New Bremen broke a 2-2 tie in the top of the sixth inning with five runs, highlighted by Abbi Thieman’s two-run double,  to pick up a MAC win. Hanna Tenkman and Taylor Paul each drove in two runs for the Cardinals while Caity Bergman added an RBI. Molly Smith doubled twice and pitched a complete game, giving up just one earned run and striking out seven. Rachel Partington and Kara Evers drove in runs for Marion Local.


Parkway 12, Versailles 8 — Parkway scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth to overcome a tough start and earn the MAC win. Parkway’s powerful middle of the order, Bailey Strickler and Haley Hawk,  each drove in four runs for the Panthers. Hawk homered, as well. Mallory George had four RBI for Versailles.


South Adams (Ind.) 16, Coldwater 8 — South Adams scored 13 runs in the top of the fifth inning to take a wild affair against Coldwater on Tuesday. The game was tied 2-2 heading into the fifth before South Adams piled on the baker’s dozen runs, led by a grand slam by Ramirez.


Minster 13, Dayton Stivers 3, 5 inn. — Minster’s powerful offense delivered again in a run-rule win. Jenna Nixon was 3-for-3 with three RBI, Danielle Barhorst homered and drove in two, Taylor Homan went 3-for-3 with a triple and an RBI, Karly Richard was 2-for-3 with a triple and Jenna Poeppelman drove in two runs. Lindsey Albers added an RBI and Laney Hemmelgarn doubled and drove in a run while earning in the win in the pitcher’s circle by giving up one earned run and striking out seven. Rachael Hoying worked a scoreless fifth inning with a strikeout.


Fort Loramie 16, Fairlawn 0 — Fort Loramie scored in each of its five at-bats and went on the road for the Shelby County League win. Aleah Frilling had a big day, going 4-for-5 with five RBI. Morgan Holscher, Desiree Fogt and Alaina Pleiman each drove in two runs. Macy Imwalle, Emma Wilt and Cassidy Albers each had an RBI.
