By Jessica Honigford Community Post MARIA STEIN – Parents and students at Marion Local Elementary School spent Monday evening enjoying the sights and sounds of the students’ art created throughout the year.
The art and technology fair showcased the students’ talents in everything from learning how to create a presentation on the computer to the musical talents of the fifth and sixth grade bands. Among the songs selected for the bands to play was “On Wisconsin,” “Be Our Guest,” “Under the Sea,” and “Let’s Go Band.” “I appreciate all of your efforts,” Elementary Principal Karen Post said. “The courage it takes to play in front of an audience is awesome.” Students’ artworks from throughout the year were also on display throughout the hallways and classrooms on the unseasonably warm April evening. “I want to thank you all for coming to support your students,” Post said. “It’s very warm in here and we appreciate you coming.” The Parent Teacher Organization took advantage of the attendance to hold its spring meeting and elect its new officers. The PTO officers reported that the organization has $7,890.49 in its savings account and has $11,398.35 over all. |
