NEW BREMEN – Those who attended the Little Miss Bremenfest pageant last Tuesday were met with song, dance and adorable entertainment.

Fourteen girls ranging from ages 4-6 braved the stage Tuesday night in the New Bremen High School auditorium to compete for the title of Little Miss Bremenfest 2008.  Last year's Little Miss Bremenfest, Diana Heitkamp, 6,  along with other past winners, were there to support this year's group of contestants.
Each girl walked the stage, showed off her dress, participated in group dance numbers and answered questions from the pageant's emcee, Ken DeMange.
The interview questions brought with them cute answers.  When DeMange asked 5-year-old Callie Wells what color she would color the sky, she answered with a confident, “Blue.”  When asked why, she responded, “Cuz the sky's supposed to be blue.”
Madison Cordonnier, 5, answered “Peaches” when she was asked what she does to stay healthy.
Mariah Parlett, age 6, told the audience what she would buy with a million dollars. “Sunglasses,” she said without hesitating.
The nuances of the age group showed through with favorite TV shows and colors.  Hanna Montana and the color pink were among the favorites of many of the girls.
In between segments of the pageant students from Lynda Davis' New Bremen School of Dance performed to “Twilight Zone” and High School Musical's “What Time is it.”
The 2008  Little Miss Bremenfest and the first and second runner up will be announced at the opening ceremonies of Bremenfest at the Crown Pavilion at 7 p.m. Aug. 15 along with the 2008 Bremenfest Queen.
The 2008 Little Miss Bremenfest receives a crown, sash, award plaque, $50 savings bond, flowers and a gift bag. The runners up receive a crown, sash, award plaque, $50 savings bond, flowers and a gift bag. All the contestants receive Flowers, a participation certificate and a gift bag.
The contestants include Miranda Scheib, 6, Callie Wells, 5, Madison Cordonnier, 5, Riley Scheib, 6, Elli Bleu Roetgerman, 6, Mariah Parlett, 6, Alexa Poeppelman, 6, Grace Wilker, 5, Calla Ferguson, 6, Holly Schulze, 6, Emma Keller, 5, Janelle Hagan, 4, Jessica Heitkamp, 5, and Jessica Fledderjohann, 6.
