From Staff Reports
The visiting Lehman Cavaliers dominated the Redskin gridiron on Friday night. The Cavaliers came out of the contest with a 48-7 victory over Fort Loramie.

The Redskins started with the ball but were forced to punt to the Cavaliers. On the next play, Kaleb Goins raced down the right side for a 78-yard touchdown. A 16-yard pass from Kameron Barton to Zac Schmitz set up the next Lehman touchdown before Max Cartwright plunged into the endzone from three yards out. The score became 14-0 for Lehman at 4:54 left in the first quarter.
Lehman secured the next touchdown of the game as well, carrying the ball seven times for 54 yards. Cartwright finally ran the last seven yards for Lehman's third touchdown of the night. A Fort Loramie fumble returned the ball to Lehman on Fort Loramie's 43-yard line. Schmitz caught a 27-yard pass from Barton, and Cartwright ran nine yards to bring the Cavaliers within first and goal. Goins carried for the last seven yards to score. On the Redskins' second play, Barton intercepted a long pass to give Lehman possession once again. Four plays later, Adam Peltier scored from a yard out, making the score 35-0 for Lehman at the half.
“We missed assignments on both sides of the ball,” said Fort Loramie coach Jon McCumber. “We got caught up in the atmosphere and Lehman took advantage.”
“The first half was the most complete half we've played all season,” said Lehman coach Dick Roll. “We usually get off to slow starts, so it was good to see us get off on the right foot tonight. We've been getting a little better with each game offensively and our defense has played great all season.”
The Cavaliers continued to dominate in the second half, opening the third quarter with a 58-yard touchdown pass by Barton to Schmitz. Shortly thereafter, Lehman scored the last Cavalier touchdown of the night when Cartwright sped away from the competition for an 86-yard touchdown. The Redskins prevented a complete shutout with a 62-yard halfback pass from Mitch Raterman to Cody Albers to end the game at 48-7.
Lehman moves to a 6-1 record while Fort Loramie falls to 3-5.
