The Wapakoneta Daily News, The Evening Leader and The Community Post are collaborating to publish what could be the largest and one of the best special sections that has ever been produced by our group of newspapers.

The management of the three papers is requesting help from readers throughout Auglaize County to help us produce what has been an awardwinning special publication for the past 39 years across the United States.

We are looking for anything that documents how Auglaize County has become “A Place Called Home” for you and your family. We are excited that this special section will share your stories and pictures.

Anyone with old photographs (particularly those dating back to the 19th century) can email scanned images or bring them to the office where we can photograph or scan them. We also welcome written accounts detailing a family’s historical stories and interesting facts about Auglaize County’s history and its people.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, Oct. 21. Simply call the newspaper, stop by one of the offices, or email execeditor@wapakwdn.com with the subject line “A Place Called Home.”

We look forward to hearing from you and, as always, thank you for reading The Wapakoneta Daily News, The Evening Leader and The Community Post.
