Minster High School has a new head coach for their volleyball team, but that new coach is a familiar face. Chelsea McGhee will take the reigns this coming season, but she has been with school, and the program, for six years already.
“They were hiring, so I applied for the Phys. Ed. job. They asked if I would be interested in coaching, and I said I was interested in coaching anything,” said McGhee of how she initially came to be at the school.
McGhee is a 2009 graduate of Lima Shawnee and played college volleyball at Trine University where she met her husband.
“He’s from this area, and my grandma is from Minster, so thats how I even knew where Minster was, because its a small town,” explained McGhee. Prior to Minster, McGhee was at Crestview Schools where she was a teacher and coached their eighth grade team.
