Events at local schools have been scheduled to honor veterans on Friday, Nov. 9, in honor of Sunday's Veterans Day.


Minster Schools will hold its annual Veterans Day program on Friday, November 9 in the elementary school. Coffee and doughnuts will be served to all veterans, spouses, and legion auxiliary members starting at 9:15 a.m.. in the commons area. The program will begin promptly at 10 the gymnasium. The program is open to the press and general public. This year’s program will feature performances by selected student speakers, a local scout color guard, the junior high choir, the high school band, junior legion auxiliary members, and elementary music students. Fort Loramie

The Fort Loramie Old School History Club is inviting all local veterans to the Annual Veterans Progra on Friday, November  9. This year’s program will feature keynote speaker Chip Tansill, the Director of the  Ohio Department of Veterans Services. Director Tansill will be pinning all Vietnam Era Veterans at the Veterans Breakfast at 9 a.m. in recognition of the 50th Anniversary  of the Vietnam War. Breakfast starts at 8:30 the cafeteria and  the  program will start at 9:40 a.m. in the high school gym. Veterans are asked to arrive no later than 9:20 .
