Staff Writer

Jared Hoying has turned into one of the top hitters in South Korean baseball this season. The Fort Loramie grad and former Texas Ranger signed a contract with the Hanwha Eagles this past winter and has become one of the top sluggers in the KBO, the league based out of South Korea.

Hoying is hitting .332 with 15 home runs, 50 runs batted in and a stellar .401 on-base percentage as of Sunday, June 10. His average is good for 13th in batting in the league, ninth in on-base percentage, tied for seventh in home runs and tied for fifth in runs batted in.

Hoying has helped lead Hanwha to second place in the KBO standings with a 36-27 record, six and a half games behind the front-running Doosan Bears.
