Minster’s 2020 budget was front and center at its council meeting Tuesday, February 4. Council members used a rule suspension to pass a final budget appropriating $25,948,416.30, an amount about $6 million less than that appropriated in 2019 according the Village Administrator Don Harrod.
Some of the requested items by village department heads included studying potential consolidation of fire and emergency medical services with New Bremen and Jackson and German townships, continued work on Garfield Street, generators for the lift stations at Seventh Avenue and Parkview Drive which would prevent sewage backups caused by any power outage, construction of the new northwest power substation, and the completion of pickleball courts at Four Seasons Park.
