Spencer Hired as Minster Principal

Contracts and hiring were the big news Monday evening as the Minster School Board offered a two-year contract to incoming Jr./Sr. High School Principal Dr. Jason Spencer, replacing the retiring Mike Lee.

Spencer comes to Minster following two years of experience as principal at the Villages High School, a charter school, in Florida and prior to that five years at high schools in Ohio.

The Board also offered a two-year contract to Alicia Everman as school psychologist. Everman is a school psychologist for Piqua city schools. Superintendent Brenda Boeke said, “We had previously contracted through the Auglaize County ESC. This year we are going to hire a psychologist out-right and share that posi-tion between Minster and New Knoxville.”

The Board also approved employee contracts which raise employee share of insurance from 10 percent to 11 percent in 2018, 11.25 percent in 2019, and 11.5 percent in 2020. It also gives them a 3.25 percent raise in 2018, 3 percent raise in 2019, and a 3.25 percent raise in 2020.

In other contract dealings the Board accepted the resignation of Payton Printz, health and physical education teacher, effective the end of this school year,. Prince is taking the head football coaching position at Charleston Southeastern.
