The Fort Loramie village council met briefly on Nov. 23 for their monthly meeting. Below are a few highlights and topics covered during that meeting.
Before their council meeting, a budget meeting was held, the second of three, with the final budget meeting planned to take place before December’s village council meeting.
Mayor Randy Ahlers told the Community Post that they’ll go through the three budget meetings, with a possible special meeting if necessary, so the public has an opportunity to ask questions before the final budget is passed in early 2021.
Police/Safety committee member Matt Hoying reported that most of the new uniforms as part of the locker room project had been ordered and would be in over the next couple of weeks.
With CARES Act funding, the village has built lockers at the village offices that also house the police department.
“They’re not that wild about going on cases where you have COVID cases and then going home to their families with the same clothes on,” said Ahlers. “So now, we have a locker room for them in the (village) offices.
