MINSTER — Need extra space, but are having trouble finding nearby storage units? Bryan and Matt Niemeyer experienced the same problem so they are doing something about it.
Minster-New Bremen Storage LLC, off state Route 66 between New Bremen and Minster, will soon have storage units available to reserve.
“We needed storage of our own like a year ago because we had stuff that we wanted to put away,” said Matt. “We called several places and there were none available or had a waiting list. We had previously been talking about it for years, we just never did it. That kind of triggered us to get serious about it and here we are.”
The Niemeyers bought the land this past spring and began site work the weekend of July 4.
The storage facility, along with the Southwestern Auglaize County Chamber of Commerce and the village of Minster, held its ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday out at the site, 190 Midway Road, near True Value.
The Niemeyer hope the storage facility fills a much-needed gap in the area.
“The land became available and we had to get it re-zoned for this purpose. We hope it fulfills a need for the surrounding communities,” said Matt. “I talked to someone the other day and they said that [they] had a unit in Piqua and Kettering and he said those were the two closest storage units that they could find. He was excited to hear that there was going to be one here in town.”
There will be 104 storage units available, ranging from 10-feet by 5-feet, 10x10, 10x15, 10x20 and a few 10x30s.
Purchasing a unit is a straightforward process.
Those interested can go to the website, Minster-NewBremenStorage.com (note the dash) and can search for units by hovering over the diagram of the buildings.
“It tells you the pricing, the size of the unit and its availability,” said Bryan.
