The Minster athletic department sent out an announcement via social media just before noon on Wednesday notifying the community that the Wildcat football team's first round playoff game against Delphos Jefferson had been cancelled.
No. 11 seeded Minster was set to host no. 22 Delphos on Oct. 10 in the first round of the Region 24 D. VI bracket. But The Community Post reached out to Minster head coach Geron Stokes who said that Delphos' injuries and players in quarantine caused the cancelation.
13 minutes later, the athletic department sent out another announcement that the team had scheduled a regular season game against Pandora-Gilboa for this Friday at 7 p.m. with ticketing information coming soon.
When the football season was confirmed earlier this Fall, it was stated that "schools eliminated from the OHSAA playoffs or that chose not to enter the OHSAA playoffs have the option to schedule additional regular season contests through Saturday, November 14 (maximum of 10 regular season contests permitted)."
