The Minster boys golf team wrapped up the regular season with their third consecutive Midwestern Athletic Conference (MAC) title on Sept. 26.
After falling to Anna (180-173) on 9/21, the Wildcats (356) finished third in the league tournament on Sept. 26 behind Coldwater (344) and Delphos (347) to give them a 16-2 (9-0) record and the conference title.
Senior Joseph Magoto was named the MAC Player of the Year and earned 1st Team All-MAC honors with senior Brady Hoelscher. Sophomores Nathan Beair and Mitchell Bornhorst also were named Honorable Mention.
Coming into the year, first year head coach Jeremy Magoto said it would be a rebuilding year with graduating five seniors, a first-year head coach and a large sophomore class.
“This year, those boys really surprised me,” said Jeremy, who was named MAC coach of the year. “My first year of coaching I didn’t know what to expect. I’m blessed with the situation I’m in, the boys are very coachable, disciplined, respectful and have a good outlook. That’s all you can ask for.”
